  • Product failures occurring under normal residential use and operating conditions.

Warranty Exclusions

To the extent permitted by law, this voluntary warranty does not cover damage or faults caused by:

  • Failure to follow operating, care or maintenance instructions; misuse, abuse, neglect or accidental damage.
  • Unauthorised repairs, alterations or modifications, or damage caused by third parties.
  • Storm, flood, fire, acts of nature or abnormal/extreme environmental conditions.
  • Normal wear and tear, natural fading or colour variation over time.
  • Corrosion caused by inadequate cleaning or maintenance.

These exclusions do not exclude or restrict rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Care & Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance are important to preserve product appearance and operation. Remove dirt, dust, salt and residue; use clean water and mild soapy water where appropriate; keep tracks and guides clear; and follow manufacturer care instructions.

  • High-salinity/coastal roller shutter installations: clean approximately every 2-4 weeks.

Assessment, Repair Or Replacement

Where a defect is covered, Five Star Outdoors may, depending on the circumstances and subject to applicable law, repair or replace the defective component or rectify defective workmanship. Replacement components may vary slightly in colour, finish or appearance where the original component is no longer available. Any remedy under this warranty does not limit remedies otherwise available under Australian Consumer Law.

Warranty Claim Expenses

Customers should contact Five Star Outdoors before incurring expenses associated with a warranty claim. Where Five Star Outdoors is responsible for reasonable expenses associated with an accepted claim, reimbursement will be handled in accordance with applicable law. Customers should retain relevant receipts or evidence.

Transferability

Unless otherwise expressly stated in writing, the Five Star Outdoors voluntary warranty applies to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. This does not limit rights or remedies that may otherwise exist under applicable law.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.

Important Information

Five Star Outdoors warranty periods are additional warranties and do not define or limit how long a product should reasonably last under Australian Consumer Law. Customers may continue to have statutory rights after an express Five Star Outdoors or manufacturer warranty period has expired.
